Mission
Keys on Parade is a non-profit after school program, providing impactful group piano classes to children in the Duval County Public Schools. Children enrolled in the program are stimulated and nourished with much needed exposure to music education, while learning fun piano ensembles and at home practice techniques.
The Comprehensive Approach
The Keys on Parade Group Piano Program is designed to encourage confidence and enthusiasm in beginning musicians. Compared to private piano lessons, the group piano curriculum is a comprehensive approach to learning music. In the group setting children learn to sing songs, dance to rhythm activities, play music theory games, and perform ensemble pieces as a team. Through incorporation of these activities, children experience music fundamentals through a wide range of stimulating and enjoyable activities.
The course is fun and interactive, while developing tight-knit bonds among student peers, Edward Waters College mentors, and parents - an opportunity to learn as a community.
